About the 4.1.4 ConnectR Patch (E3_10_ConnectR_4_1_4)
This patch enables the download of the Mirapoint ConnectR add-in (build 4.1.4.11)
for Microsoft Outlook. ConnectR 4.1.4 requires a system running Messaging Operating System (MOS) 3.10.6 or higher and the D3_10_6_webcal patch.
This document covers the following information:
- You must have a valid user account on your calendar
appliance.
- You must have the latest Windows and Outlook updates
and service packs installed on your computer—otherwise, some features and
functionality will not work as expected.
- Outlook must be installed, configured, and run at least
once for each user prior to running ConnectR.
If
your Mirapoint appliance is running system software release 3.10.6-GA or higher with the D3_10_6_webcal patch
and you have a group calendar license, you can install this patch.
Note: If you plan to upgrade your Mirapoint appliance,
you should do so prior to installing this patch. Each time you upgrade your
Mirapoint appliance, you will need to reinstall the ConnectR patch.
To install the E3_10_ConnectR_4_1_4 patch, follow these steps:
- Use a telnet client to connect to
the administration command-line interface on port 23 on your Mirapoint
appliance.
- Log in as an administrator.
- Verify your current system software version:

Note:
This patch
does not reboot the system, but it does briefly stop and restart the WebCal
service.
This patch can be uninstalled to restore the previous behavior. Uninstallation
briefly interrupts the WebCal service.
After the patch is installed, users can log into WebCal to download the
Outlook ConnectR add-in. First-time users are prompted to set their calendar
preferences. In particular, they should make sure that the time zone is set.
- After ConnectR encountered a synchronization error, you could not use Microsoft Outlook until either you closed the error notification that appeared in the Windows task bar (system tray) or the error notification timed out. (48511)
- A customer site reported that its users experienced two particular ConnectR problems: 1) A message dialog box stating "ConnectR failed to sync all events" would appear and then ConnectR would become inoperable. 2) In many cases following the occurrence of the first problem, Outlook would crash, ConnectR would be disabled, and a restart would fail to reenable the add-in.(48217)
- If ConnectR started up when WebCal was not running, ConnectR would not connect to the appliance once WebCal was running. (47960)
- ConnectR experienced intermittent XML timeouts and failed to sync in real time. This was due to ConnectR being unable to parse errors reported from the appliance correctly and failing to restart real-time communication. (47325)
- Mirapoint added diagnostic code to help solve an intermittent problem that causes ConnectR to prompt you to provide your login credentials. The login credentials issue itself is not yet
resolved. (46620)
